Interview Analysis Workshops within the CHIBOW network

Early Stage Researchers Lisa Haberkern, Jakub Gałęziowski, Kanako Kuramitsu, Oskars Gruziņš, Eva Käuper, and Lukas Schretter met in Salzburg on 12 July 2016 in order to plan Interview Analysis Workshops taking place within the network „Children Born of War. Past, Present, and Future.“

The Interview Analysis Workshops are designed to follow-up on the network‘s Advanced Training Courses, which took place in Graz and 's-Hertogenbosch earlier this year. The purpose of the workshops is to discuss findings gained from interviews with Children Born of War that have been conducted by ESRs in different settings. Reflecting upon the applied interviewing methods and discussing various strategies for analysing the qualitative data, the ESRs shall come to conclusions on how to incorporate the interviews into their PhD projects, in particular parts and aspects which they find difficult to analyse. The biographical analysis workshops also aim at identifying and summarizing challenges which researchers may encounter when conducting and analysing interviews with Children Born of War in general.

The first Interview Analysis Workshop of the CHIBOW network takes place on September 26, 2016 in Warsaw. It is led by two experts in the field of Qualitative Research, Prof. Kaja Kaźmierska and Dr. Katarzyna Waniek from the University of Lodz, who provide the methodological and theoretical framework for a joint discussion. ESRs Kanako Kuramitsu, Saskia Mitreuter, and Lukas Schretter share interviews that have been conducted by themselves and are relevant for their respective PhD projects.
