During the CME (Continual Medical Education) Medical Upgrade Course on Medical Writing jointly organized by Centre for Medical Education and the Federal Medical Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), held in Konjic (BiH) in May 14th -15th, 2016, a series of lectures on the science and scientific way of thinking; international scientific criteria; planning, financing and conducting a research project; developing a successful mentoring relationship; common mistakes in scientific writing; EndNote citation program; how to avoid plagiarism; major changes in academic publishing; online submission system; and communicating with journal editors were delivered. And, to provide an effective learning, participants were urged to bring their research project proposals or unpublished papers and the group exercises took place in which some topics of interest in research methodology, data collection and processing, challenges and tips for getting published in scientific journals, research collaboration, shared authorship and thinking like a reviewer were discussed with well-known scientists from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina: Prof. Dr. Matko Marusic, Prof. Dr. Livia Puljak, Academician Prof. Dr. Enver Zerem and Prof. Dr. Samir Delibegovic.
The goal of the Medical Upgrade Course is to enable participants to present their research paper in a better and organized manner as well as to improve their academic writing skills.
